How do I become a 4-H Leader?

  1. Call or email Kim McKenzie, Waterloo 4-H Association Contact at 1-877-661-6667, and tell her “I would like to be a 4-H Leader!”
  2. Complete the 4-H Ontario Volunteer Application Form,    the Volunteer Screening Process and attend volunteer orientation training.

·    4-H leader training is a requirement of being a 4-H volunteer. All volunteers are required to participate in a training workshop within 12 months of becoming a volunteer, while existing volunteers must attend a workshop within every two years thereafter, or more frequently as per local Association policy.

  1. Choose one from many quality, innovative 4-H club projects.
  2. Find a time and a place for your club meetings.  Spend a minimum of 12 hours of meeting time on each club project, and participate in an achievement program.
  3. Enjoy making a difference in young peoples lives as you help them to learn and develop new skills.  You might even learn something yourself!
